Happy Sunday Parents:

What a lovely winter weekend.  Excellent job to the girls 7th and 8th grade swim team in their final conference meet of the season!  It is exciting to watch their progress.

We have a final week before Christmas break and we will be really focusing on the "reason for the season".

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.

And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor,

     Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father,
     Prince of Peace.

Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.

The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers concerning my father-in-law.  He has been moved to Freedom Village to recover from his infection and pneumonia.  He is doing very well.  Hopefully he can get back to his apartment within a few weeks.

I have updated my classroom newsletter.

Have a wonderful night!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a restful long weekend.

Sorry that I did not update my blog/newsletter sooner but we unfortunately have been in and out of the hospital since Wednesday night with my father-in-law.  He developed a bad staph infection in his leg and has many other health issues which have complicated things a bit.

We are his caregivers so it has been important for us to be there as much as possible.  Fortunately, it happened over our time off of work so I did not have to miss any classroom time.  I always recognize things like this as part of God's perfect plan.  Both my husband and I were able to be there without having to worry about work.  That was a HUGE BLESSING!!

With that said, I did not update my classroom newsletter.  I will just tell you that with the shortened week and swimming, most of what we did was to focus on what we are thankful for.  We also did spend some significant time talking about the first Thanksgiving and the life of Squanto who was a Christian Native American.

I am so thankful for EVERYTHING: ...the good things...the frustrating things...the sad things...EVERYTHING---- as I know that each thing has been allowed for me to experience to help create the person that God wants me to be.

I am looking forward to seeing my little cherubs in the morning!!
